Reflections on the 2025 Waterfall City Tournament of Champions

As the golden hues of late autumn bathe Jozi in warmth, we had the privilege of attending the 2025 Waterfall City Tournament of Champions, a remarkable event that transcends the boundaries of traditional golf tournaments. This Sunshine Tour event, powered by Attacq and held at the esteemed Royal Johannesburg Golf Club, was not just a display of athletic prowess but a testament to the spirit of inclusivity and unity in sport.

A tournament that embraces all

The Waterfall City Tournament of Champions stands out for its commitment to inclusivity, bringing together a diverse array of golfers. From seasoned professionals to emerging talents, from female athletes to golfers with disabilities, the tournament is a melting pot of passion and determination. Notably, golfers from the South African Disabled Golf Association (SADGA) were given the opportunity to compete alongside top-tier professionals, showcasing their skills on an equal platform.

This initiative not only highlights the depth of talent across all spectrums but also reinforces the message that golf is a sport for everyone. The participation of these athletes added a rich layer of inspiration and underscored the tournament’s progressive vision.

Celebrating champions and trailblazers

The tournament culminated in a gripping victory for Zimbabwean golfer Kieran Vincent, who secured his second Sunshine Tour title with a commanding four-stroke lead. His performance was a masterclass in skill and composure.

In the women’s division, Tandi McCallum delivered a standout performance, finishing as the top Sunshine Ladies Tour professional at one under par after a composed final round of 72. Her achievement not only underscores the depth of talent in South African women’s golf but also highlights the tournament’s commitment to inclusivity and excellence across all categories.

Equally inspiring was the triumph of Spain’s Juan Postigo Arce in the SADGA division, exemplifying resilience and excellence. These victories, among others, painted a vivid picture of the tournament’s competitive spirit and the diverse talent it nurtures.

Our role in amplifying the message

At Twisted Toast Digital, our involvement went beyond mere support. On behalf of our clients Attacq and Waterfall City, we were storytellers, capturing and sharing the many narratives that unfolded during the tournament. Through strategic social media campaigns and engaging content, we aimed to highlight the event’s unique blend of competition and camaraderie.

Our efforts were driven by a belief in the power of inclusive storytelling to inspire and connect. By showcasing the journeys of these athletes, we hoped to encourage broader participation and appreciation for the sport.

Looking ahead with hope and determination

The 2025 Waterfall City Tournament of Champions has set a new benchmark for inclusivity in sport. It serves as a reminder of what can be achieved when opportunities are extended to all, regardless of background or ability.

As we reflect on this extraordinary event, we are filled with gratitude for the chance to contribute and bear witness to such a celebration of human spirit and unity. We look forward to future tournaments that continue to break barriers and bring people together through the love of the game, with the support of forward-thinking businesses such as Attacq and Waterfall City.
